April Paik

Violinist April Paik grew up playing in the orchestras of the Santa Monica public school system and has since gone on to perform on stages across the United States and Europe.

After her studies in the departments of Music and German at the University of California, Berkeley, April taught privately and appeared frequently with ensembles throughout the Bay Area, including the Stockton Symphony, Monterey Symphony, Pacific Chamber Symphony, Eco Ensemble, and more. As a recipient of the Hertz Traveling Fellowship from UC Berkeley, April then moved to Germany, where she performed with the Lübeck Philharmonic.

April returned to her native Los Angeles in 2017, where she maintains a private teaching studio as well as coaches violin at Santa Monica High School and Mira Costa High School and is Assistant Director of Seaside Strings in El Segundo. Outside of teaching, April particularly enjoys performing opera, contemporary music, and early music.
